How to use the calculator

Count business days between two dates

1. Choose Count Business Days.
2. Pick a start date and an end date.
3. Read the number of business days, total calendar days and weekend days.

The count includes both the start date and the end date. For example, Monday to Friday of the same week is 5 business days.

Add business days to a date

1. Choose Add Business Days.
2. Pick the start date and enter how many business days to add. Use a negative number to count backwards.
3. The tool shows the resulting date, for example “Thursday, October 15, 2026”.

Counting starts from the day after the start date, which is how most delivery and payment deadlines work.

How long is 3 business days?

Three business days is three weekdays, not counting Saturday and Sunday. The calendar time depends on the day you start:

So “3 business days from today” can mean 3, 4 or 5 calendar days. To get the exact date, enter today as the start date and 3 as the number of days.

What counts as a business day?

Business days are Monday to Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are skipped. Public holidays are not removed automatically because they differ by country, so if a holiday falls inside your range, add one extra day for each holiday.

Frequently asked questions

Are weekends business days?

No. Saturday and Sunday are not business days in most countries, so the calculator skips them.

Does the calculator include holidays?

No. It skips weekends only. Subtract any public holidays in your country from the result.

How many business days are in a year?

A year has 260 to 262 weekdays, depending on which day it starts and whether it is a leap year. Use start date 1 January and end date 31 December to get the exact number for any year.
