Attendance Calculator

Track your current attendance, see how many classes you can miss, and know exactly how many you need to attend to hit your target.

This calculator is made for real class planning. If your attendance is already healthy, it tells you how much breathing room you have. If it is below the line, it shows how many back-to-back classes you need to attend to recover.

You are currently above your target. That means you have some flexibility, but missing too many classes in a row will still bring the percentage down quickly.
About this tool

Calculate your attendance percentage

This attendance calculator tells you three things in one go: your current attendance percentage, how many classes you can still miss and stay above your target, and how many classes in a row you must attend if you are below it. It is built for students who need 75% (or any other minimum) to sit exams.

How to use it

  1. Enter the total classes held so far.
  2. Enter the classes you attended.
  3. Enter your target attendance % — 75% is common in schools and universities.
  4. Read your current percentage, the classes you can miss or must attend, and what happens to your percentage after the next class.

Attendance percentage formula

Attendance % = (classes attended ÷ classes held) × 100

Example: 96 classes attended out of 120 held = 96 ÷ 120 × 100 = 80%.

How many classes can I miss?

If you are above your target, the calculator finds how many more classes you can skip in a row before you drop below it:

Classes you can miss = (attended − target × held) ÷ target, rounded down.

With 96 of 120 attended and a 75% target: (96 − 90) ÷ 0.75 = 8 classes. After missing 8 you would be at 96 of 128 = exactly 75%.

How many classes do I need to attend?

If you are below target, it finds how many classes in a row you must attend to get back up:

Classes needed = (target × held − 100 × attended) ÷ (100 − target), rounded up.

With 70 of 100 attended and a 75% target: (7500 − 7000) ÷ 25 = 20 classes. Attending all 20 takes you to 90 of 120 = 75%.

Attendance tips

  • Check your attendance every week, not just before exams — recovering late takes many more classes.
  • The higher the total classes held, the slower your percentage moves, in both directions.
  • Keep a few classes in reserve for illness or emergencies instead of using every allowed absence.
  • Ask your institution whether labs, tutorials and lectures are counted separately.

Frequently asked questions

How is 75% attendance calculated?

Divide the classes you attended by the total classes held and multiply by 100. If the result is 75 or more, you meet a 75% requirement.

Does the calculator save my data?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is stored.

Can I use it for office or work attendance?

Yes. Enter working days instead of classes — the maths is the same.
