Convert metric and imperial units instantly
This unit converter changes a value from one unit to another in four groups: length, weight, volume and temperature. Pick a group, choose the from and to units, and type a number. The result updates as you type, so a quick kg to lbs or meters to feet check takes a few seconds.
How to use it
- Click a group: Length, Weight, Volume or Temperature.
- Choose the From and To units. Use the ⇄ button to swap them.
- Type a number in the Value box. The converted result appears below.
Supported units
| Group | Units |
|---|---|
| Length | Meter, Kilometer, Centimeter, Millimeter, Mile, Yard, Foot, Inch |
| Weight | Kilogram, Gram, Milligram, Pound, Ounce, Ton (1,000 kg) |
| Volume | Liter, Milliliter, Gallon (US), Quart, Pint, Cup, Fluid Ounce |

How it works
For length, weight and volume, the tool first turns your value into a base unit (meter, kilogram or liter). Then it divides by the size of the target unit. For example, 1 pound is 0.453592 kg, so 92.1 kg ÷ 0.453592 = 203.0459091 lbs. Results are rounded to 8 decimal places, and trailing zeros are removed.
Temperature uses formulas instead of a fixed factor. The value is turned into Celsius first: °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9, or °C = K − 273.15. Then it is turned into the target scale: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32, or K = °C + 273.15. Temperature results are rounded to 6 decimal places.
Quick examples
- 97.8 kg = 215.61226829 lbs
- 1 meter = 3.2808399 feet
- 5 miles = 8.04672 kilometers
- 1 US gallon = 3.78541 liters
- 100 °C = 212 °F
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert kg to lbs?
Choose Weight, set From to Kilogram and To to Pound, then enter the weight. The tool divides by 0.453592, so 1 kg is about 2.2046 lbs.
Is the gallon a US or UK gallon?
It is the US gallon (3.78541 liters). Quart, pint, cup and fluid ounce use US sizes too. UK imperial gallons are not included.
Why does a very small result show as 0?
Results are rounded to 8 decimal places (6 for temperature). A value smaller than that, such as milligrams to tons, rounds to 0. Try a closer unit instead.
