Accuracy

Domain Authority is a Moz-owned metric. Exact 0-100 scores require a server-side Moz API token; without it, this tool will not invent a score. Scores describe the root domain, so a subdomain or page URL returns the root domain's score, and brand-new or small sites may have no data yet.

About this tool

Free Moz Domain Authority Checker

This free domain authority checker shows the Moz Domain Authority (DA), Page Authority (PA), spam score, linking root domains and inbound links for any website. Paste one domain or a list of up to 25, and you get a side-by-side table you can copy or download as CSV. No sign-up is needed.

How to check domain authority

  1. Enter one or more domains or URLs in the box, one per line or separated by commas. You can paste full URLs; https:// and www. are removed automatically.
  2. Click the check button. The tool asks the Moz API for each domain and removes duplicates.
  3. Read the results table: DA, PA, spam score, linking domains, inbound links and the date Moz last crawled the site.
  4. Use Copy CSV or Download CSV to save the results for a report or spreadsheet.

What the scores mean

Domain Authority is a 1–100 score created by Moz that predicts how well a whole domain is likely to rank, based mainly on the quality and number of sites linking to it. The checker labels each result so you can read it at a glance:

DA scoreLabelWhat it usually means
80–100EliteMajor brands, news sites and large platforms
60–79StrongWell-known sites with a large, trusted link profile
40–59GrowingEstablished niche sites and active businesses
20–39NewerYounger sites that are starting to earn links
1–19LowNew sites or sites with very few backlinks
  • Page Authority (PA) is the same idea for a single page instead of the whole domain.
  • Spam score estimates the share of sites with similar features that Moz found to be penalised or banned. Lower is better.
  • Linking domains counts unique websites that link to the domain; inbound links counts every individual link.

Bulk DA checker for SEO and link building

Checking many domains at once is useful when you:

  • compare your site with competitors before choosing keywords,
  • review guest-post or outreach targets and skip low-quality or high-spam sites,
  • audit backlinks you already have, or check a domain before buying it,
  • report SEO progress to a client month by month.

How to improve your Domain Authority

DA moves slowly because it is relative to every other site in the Moz index. The steady ways to raise it are the same things that help real rankings: publish content other sites want to reference, earn links from relevant and trusted sites, fix broken internal links, and remove or disavow clearly spammy backlinks. Check your DA once a month rather than daily.

Frequently asked questions

Is this domain authority checker free?

Yes. You can check up to 25 domains per run without an account.

Where does the data come from?

Scores are fetched live from the official Moz API, so they match what Moz shows. The tool never estimates or invents a score — if Moz has no data for a domain, the cell stays empty.

Does Google use Domain Authority?

No. DA is a third-party metric from Moz, not a Google ranking factor. It is still a useful way to compare the link strength of sites against each other.

Why is my DA different from other tools?

Each SEO company uses its own link index and formula. Moz DA, Ahrefs DR and Semrush Authority Score are not interchangeable, so always compare sites using the same metric.
