Sitemap Generator
Crawl any website, extract all internal pages automatically, then export a ready-to-submit sitemap.xml.
Google ignores changefreq and priority, and only uses lastmod when it is accurate, so clear the date unless it matches real page updates. The crawler reads static HTML links only, skips noindex and canonicalised-elsewhere pages, and does not read robots.txt. A single sitemap file may hold at most 50,000 URLs and 50 MB uncompressed.
Create an XML sitemap from your website
This sitemap generator crawls a website from the address you enter, collects its internal pages and builds a sitemap.xml file in the standard sitemaps.org format. Pages are fetched by the mondaytool server (your browser cannot read other sites directly), then the link finding and XML building happen in your browser.
How to use it
- Enter your website URL (https:// is added if missing) and pick a max pages limit: 50, 100, 200 or 500.
- Set the default changefreq, priority (1.0 to 0.3) and last modified date before crawling.
- Click Crawl Website. Watch the live log, or click Stop Crawl at any time.
- In the Discovered Pages table, untick pages to exclude and adjust changefreq or priority per URL.
- Click Copy XML or Download sitemap.xml.
How the crawler works
It starts at your URL, reads every <a href> link on the page and queues links on the same hostname. If the first page redirects (for example to the www version), that hostname is used from then on. It skips:
- URLs with a query string (
?page=2) and links under/cdn-cgi/. - Files such as PDF, images, video, audio, fonts, CSS, JS and ZIP.
- Responses that are not HTML, private or localhost addresses, and pages that take longer than 12 seconds.
#fragments and trailing slashes are removed so the same page is not listed twice. Each URL becomes an entry like:
<url> <loc>https://example.com/about</loc> <lastmod>2026-10-13</lastmod> <changefreq>monthly</changefreq> <priority>0.8</priority> </url>
Limitations
- It reads the raw HTML, so links that only appear after JavaScript runs are not found.
- It does not check robots.txt, noindex tags or canonical tags — review the list before you submit it.
- One last-modified date is used for every URL.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I put the sitemap?
Upload sitemap.xml to your site's root folder, then submit its URL in Google Search Console or reference it in robots.txt.
Do changefreq and priority matter?
They are part of the sitemap standard, but Google has said it ignores them. The list of URLs is what matters most.
