Image Merger

Combine two images side by side, up and down, or overlay one on top of the other.

About this tool

Merge two images into one — free and private

This image merger combines two pictures into a single image. Place them side by side, stack them top to bottom, or lay one over the other with adjustable transparency, then download the result as a PNG. Your images never leave your device — the merge happens in your browser.

How to merge images

  1. Upload the first image and the second image (JPG, PNG, WebP and other common formats).
  2. Choose a merge mode: Side by side, Up and down or Overlay.
  3. For overlay, set the opacity of the top image from 0% to 100%.
  4. Check the preview and click Download Merged Image to save a PNG.

Tips for a clean result

  • Use images of the same height for side by side, and the same width for up and down. Images are placed at their original size, so different sizes leave empty space. Resize them first with an image resizer if needed.
  • Crop before merging to remove borders and focus on the important part.
  • Use 40–60% opacity in overlay mode to see both images clearly.
  • The download is PNG, which keeps full quality. Compress it afterwards if you need a smaller file for the web.

Popular uses

  • Before-and-after photos for renovations, fitness or photo editing.
  • Comparing two product photos or two design versions.
  • Joining two screenshots into one image for a chat or bug report.
  • Making a simple collage for social media posts.

Frequently asked questions

Is the image merger free?

Yes, with no sign up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. The images are read and merged locally in your browser using an HTML canvas, so they stay on your device.

Can I merge more than two images?

The tool merges two at a time. To combine more, merge the first two, download the result, then merge that file with the next image.

What format is the merged image?

The merged image downloads as a PNG file, which works everywhere and keeps the original quality.
